I was transferred to billing who told me it would be over a year but I could purchase one and file a claim with my insurance for reimbursement. I have left several voicemails for the billing department which I was able to get only after going there in person and sent several text messages to the number provided, and have not received a response in over four weeks.

I worry that my credit will be hurt because of the Sleep Institute's unwillingness to return legitimate billing inquiries. I have, for example, requested my account statement and balance on future charges. I have requested explanations on previous bills that I disagreed with, and received an unsatisfactory explanation with no supporting documentation.

In all instances, the Sleep Institute has been a nightmare to work with. The Colorado Sleep Institute has repeatedly neglected to respond to requests and provide information unless it pertains to them getting paid by me or getting me to make another appointment. They have engaged in unethical business practices and they have no interest in rectifying this behavior.

Examples include:I was told that I needed a sleep apnea CPAP machine and connected to one of their staff about making a purchase. I have health insurance.

This turned out not to be true-- my husband got the latest machine through a different provider and it was covered by insurance. I asked them for paperwork so I could submit it to insurance to at least count towards my deductible. They did not provide the proper paperwork so the insurance claim would be accepted. Insurance reached out to them for more information and they never provided it. Another example: I was having issues with the mask that I was fitted with and asked if I could speak to someone.

They told me I had to make an appointment and pay a co-pay later at a follow up appointment, my provider said that was not true and that if I had told them to get a message to her she could have called me. I am tired of using their company and want them to send my prescription for supplies to another preferred vendor with my insurance.

The doctor submitted the request but the health team still has not faxed the order. So I can't order more supplies unless I do it through them. The provider also told me that at least one other patient that day had complained about the practice and the fact that they were dishonest about insurance coverage.

I have asked twice for a manager or supervisor to call me but only get called about making another appointment. No thank you. I had a sleep apnea test done in early and was informed by the Doctor that my condition with sleep apnea was life threatening and needed to start using a CPAP machine.

They explained the entire process had Informed me what my insurance would cover and what I would have to pay each month not only for the supplies but how much I would have to pay for the machine until I owned the machine. After many months I was not receiving any medical bills and they kept saying I didnt owe any money.

When I contacted them they said that my insurance had me listed as self pay patient responsibility when that wasnt what was decided. When I called my insurance they said that they sent letters back to Colorado sleep institute requesting additional information because they never approved my CPAP because Colorado sleep institute wouldnt provide the correct information.

When I called her back and asked what I could do for her she wanted to inform me that she was working on my account and wanted to address any of my concerns. She informed me that my account has a zero balance and a few weeks later she called and told me that I they owe me money for over payments.

She kept repeating that they were going to owe me money and that I owned my machine no more payments. I showed them emails and they still said they dont see double payments. They told me what I owed and I paid it.

So, I paid an additional amount. Needless to say, I was livid. They knew how upset I was and I told them to figure it out because I would not pay another cent. Good morning, Our billing manager has spoken directly with the patient via telephone.
